Today marks the end of an incredible chapter as Angie Couchman completes her final day at North Mercer after 28 years of dedicated service.
For nearly three decades, Angie has been a constant source of support, kindness, and encouragement for our students, staff, and community. Her impact reaches far beyond the walls of our school, and the lives she has touched are countless.

✈️🌎 Our “Around the World” Summer School students are getting ready for an exciting adventure! On Tuesday, June 2, students will travel to the Kansas City International Airport for a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations, security, and many of the amazing things the airport has to offer. We are so excited for this unique learning opportunity!
🚌 The bus will leave North Mercer at 8:00 AM and is expected to return around 3:00 PM. If our return time changes, we will send out an updated TextCaster message.
🍎 Please remember:
• Students need to bring a lunch from home
• Please send an extra drink for the trip
• Signed permission slips should be returned on Monday so the airport can receive an accurate head count
• Due to airport security requirements, families are not permitted to attend the trip
• Students may not bring cell phones or other electronics on the bus

Last week, our 4-6 students celebrated Earth Day by walking around our community picking up trash. It was a dirty job and a bit muddier than expected, but the kids had a lot of fun and did a great job!
Our 4th graders flipped the classroom and became the teachers for the day! 🎉📚
Each student picked a lesson we’ve learned this year and taught it to the class—and let’s just say, they absolutely rose to the challenge. Not only did they have a blast, but they also discovered just how much preparation goes into teaching a lesson!
Bonus realization of the day: Miss Johnson might be a slightly… enthusiastic (okay, maybe a little obnoxious 😄) student.
We are so proud of their creativity, confidence, and leadership!
