Hello North Mercer Families!!! Our annual Book Blast has begun, and once again we're excited to partner with Books Are Fun and the Book Blast program to grow our students' home libraries and encourage more reading over screen time! Tonight, we're asking you to take 7 minutes to support your Student Home Library initiative.
Today, our students learned about the Book Blast Program and the importance of having their own books at home. Tonight, we are asking you to take 7 minutes to support our Student Home Library initiative.
Get started here: https://app.booksarefun.com/NMercerSch64661
How it works:
Click the link and register your student(s).
Invite at least 10 friends or family to support your student(s). (Info is secure and only used for this program.)
Need help? Watch this short video: Family Explainer Video
Win a trip to Disney!
Each supporter who clicks your student's link earns an entry for a chance to win a Disney trip. More clicks = more entries! For example, if five different people click the link, your family gets five entries into the drawing!
Pro Tip: After sending invitations, follow up with a phone call to make sure they received the message.
Why I love this program:
Every student gets new, age-appropriate books.
100% of contributions go to books and classroom supplies.
Takes less than 10 minutes and NO financial requirement from you.
Check out the attached book list—it's amazing!
More books at home = more reading! We're aiming for 100% participation this year!! See Book Blast in action at Fulton Elementary: Fulton Elementary News Clip Thank you for helping our school and community.
Wishing you all the success in your Book Blast Secret Mission,
Mrs. Mason (PK-12 School Librarian)

Our 3rd graders wrapped up Read Across America Week with Day 5: Camp Reads-a-Lot! ⛺📚 Students cozied up around their “camp” spots, grabbed their favorite books, and spent time enjoying the adventure of reading together. It was the perfect way to end a week full of fun, creativity, and discovering new stories! 🔦

Our 3rd graders had a blast celebrating Read Across America Week with a fun “Book Tasting!” 📚 Students sampled books from different genres, thinking about what they liked or didn’t like, whether the author caught their attention, and if the book made them want to keep reading. To make the experience even sweeter, they enjoyed snacks and were served specialty drinks by our awesome high school “baristas.” It was a great day of discovering new books and building a love for reading! ☕📖✨

Our 3rd graders have been having a blast celebrating Read Across America Week! 📚 They’ve enjoyed fun dress-up days and have been exploring the building to find cozy and creative spots to sit and read. It’s been so much fun seeing their excitement for books and watching their love of reading grow!
