Art Club Blanket Fundraiser Shipment Update:
The Art Club Spirit Blankets are running behind. The company originally guaranteed our blankets would be delivered by December 15 so we would be able to get them handed out before Christmas break. Unfortunately, that is not looking to be the case. Their new delivery date, that they informed us of this week, is January 3...Mrs. Scroggie is very disappointed with this and sincerely apologizes to all of those who are waiting on their order. Because of this circumstance, if you would like to cancel your order for a full refund please call Mrs. Scroggie at the school (660-382-4214) or send her an email at cscroggie@northmercer.k12.mo.us.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Mrs. Willis class has been busy!
The Home Ec class has taken a step back in time recently and made butter, cheese and eggnog from raw milk that was donated by Lindsey Landis. Students researched how to pasteurize the milk, then we pasteurized it and they made the brightest yellow butter. It’s much more yellow than store bought butter. We made pizzas today and shredded the cheese and put it on the pizza. There was not one piece leftover. We made eggnog too. It’s been a learning experience for us all!

Mrs. Owens' 2nd grade class worked with index cards to build towers over 12 inches tall.! They were then given the challenge of building a structure strong enough to hold a book, only using index cards and paper clips. Fantastic job little engineers! #CardinalNation

Congratulations to our October North Mercer Rockstar, Richard Jones!
Here is what some of our staff had to say about Richard:
Taking on a new role in the district isn't an easy task. However, I think Richard has done a great job stepping up. If he isn't for sure how to fix something, he finds a person who can.
I always know I can ask him for help and he'll be there. No matter what time of day I see him in the hall or helping around the school, he has a kind smile and a hello for me.
He also takes the time to greet my students in the hall which I appreciate.
Thank you, Richard! You make our district better every day!

2nd Grade's final product with their Science Mystery this week:
They are stranded on a "deserted island" and making hats to shade their faces, block the sun, and absorb sweat. They tested the properties of their materials for softness, stiffness, and absorbency
Way to grow and learn by experimenting! Awesome job, Mrs. Owens and her class!
